What events are traditionally swam at a swim meet?

I need to know the standard order of events that are swam at a swim meet. I have googled that but have gotten nothing. If anyone can tell me the answers i would appreciate it. Please respond ASAP.

Thanks

What events are traditionally swam at a swim meet?
My age group is like this:

Medley Relay

25 FREE

50 Free

100 Free

200 Free

100 IM

200 IM

25 FLY

50 FLY

100 FLY

25 BACK

50 BACK

100 BACK

25 BREAST

50 BACK

100 BREAST

FREE RELAY

HS SWIM

MEDLEY RELAY

50 FREE

100 FREE

200 FREE

200 FREE RELAY

500 FREE

DIVING

100 FLY

100 BACK

100 BREAST

400 RELAY

However it usually varries from state to state. If you check your local newspaper they have HS swimming results in the paper. It'll show you in the order of events.
Reply:In High School swimming the order of events is as follows:

200 Medly Relay

200 Freestyle

200 Individual Medly

50 Freestyle

Diving

100 Butterfly

100 Freestyle

500 Freestyle

200 Freestyle Relay

100 Backstroke

100 Breaststroke

400 Freestyle Relay

In a club meet there is far more diversity. In Back, breast, and fly the events are from 50 (only viable for young children) to the 200. In Freestyle, there is the 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, and 1650. Along with those there can be various relays including the 200 medly relay, 400 medly relay, 400 freestyle relay, and 200 freestyle relay.
Reply:butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, IM (fly, back, breast, free), and medly (back, breast, fly, free), and relays

25 yards (one lap) if you'rr 10 and under

50 yards (two laps) if you're 11 and older
Reply:The answers here are all correct, except it looks like people have forgotten the 400 IM

Events (For Yards Meets) Include:

Freestyle: 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 1650.

Butterfly/Backstroke/Breastroke: 100, 200

Individual Medley (IM): 200, 400

Relays: 200 Free; 400 Free; 800 Free; 200 Medley; 400 Medley

IM: Fly, Backstroke, Breastroke, Freestyle (divided equally)

Medley: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Fly, Free (divided equally)

- Meters is mostly the same, except substitute 800 Free and 1500 Free for the 1000 and 1650. Internationally, men swim the 1500, and Women swim the 800.

- Little kids also can have 25s and 50s for all strokes.

High School meets are made up of only some of these events--listed by the answer above. Club (USS) Meets tend to have most, if not all, of these events. College will have all at Conference, but the coaches typically agree on a reduced schedule for dual meets.
Reply:Usually the individual short-distance events occur first (such as the 100 or 200 meters either of a specific stroke of of the IM, aka the Individual Medley). Following that are the group events (usually with four people, one for each stroke) in the Relays. And then the long-distance individual events occur.

Current Events Project.?

ohkay, i am getting an article for my current events

that has to do with the environment...

Do you have any suggestions on:

How to write my speech?,

Nervousness,?

How to make better eye contact?,

AND

how to speack more clearly,?.

Current Events Project.?
When you write your speech make sure that you read it out loud. Also, if you can, read your speech to someone close to you. Read your speech as many times as you can before you have to do it. This will help you be able to make more eye contact. If you know the speech you will be able to look up more and not have to worry about where you left off.

As far as nervousness...I always took a lot of deep breaths and tried to think of something that's funny to keep my mind off of the fact that I was scared to death to get in front of a classroom of my peers. Make sure you have something to keep your hands occupied. If you will be using a podium keep your hands flat on the podium so you won't fidget with anything on the podium. Also, one thing that me and almost everyone in my speech class got criticized about was swaying or rocking back and forth while giving your speech. Try your best to stand still or keep your movements as little as possible. Pay attention to your other classmates and if they do something that looks bad, try not to do it yourself.

As far as speaking clearly....Always talk slower than you think you should talk. Even if you feel like you are sounding dumb, you probally are still not talking slow enough. If your speech is timed make sure you time yourself giving the speech several times.

As far as writing your speech...Make sure you don't use any words or combinations of words that you have trouble saying. Make sure that you know what you're talking about so it will be easier to talk about and you'll be able to answer questions, if there are any.

I hope this helps!

Good luck!!!
Reply:I went to nationals for speech and debate in high school... and EVERY speech i wrote followed the following outline format:

I.Intro

A. Attention getter (analogy, quote, shocking statistic)

B. Topic (blatantly state your topic... "blah is blah")

C. State 3 points to the topic ("blah is blah" because of blah, blah and blah. the last 3 blahs will be the topic sentences of the 3 body paragraphs)

II.Topic 1... Blah 1

A.

B.

C.

III.Topic 2...Blah 2

A.

B.

C.

IV.Topic 3...Blah 3

A.

B.

C.

V. Conclusion

A.Topic sentence

B.The 3 topics you covered (the 3 blahs)

C. Reconnect to the attention getter

On each of the middle three paragraphs just fill in the ABCs with 3 more subtopics for each subtopic. The 3 blahs can be organized however but some good ideas are chronology(time order), good better best, etc. You can also just do 2 blah topics by doing comparisons or pro and con.

For nervousness I would just remind you that everyone else in your class is in the same boat. And even though you will think you sound dumb... you don't. Just try not to do any thing funky with your hands and/or body. If you have long hair tie it up or back that day so you don't play with it. DON'T imagine everyone in their underwear... instead pretend they are all zoned out... which most probably will be. Eye contact is easy. Just pretend you are talking to different people. Change the person every once in a while. just don;'t stare them down. In order to speak clearly stay focused on slowing down. nerves will want to speed you up. Remember how in kindergarten the teacher made you put two fingers between words to be sure you left enough space? Do the same here... but in your mind. Imagine a beat between words if you can.... most of all dont freak out. Just pretend you are having a conversation with a bunch of people who are all quiet for once. You will have your least fake sounding speaking voice, you will lose nerves and you will make eye contact... good luck!!!!!!!! Let me know how it goes if you can!

Reply:-Dressage

-Horse Racing

-Go to the local stables and ask if you could help with the kids and their horses(like to lead them around the pasture)

-ask a neighbor who has horses if you could borrow theres for a night out!

-barrel racing

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!! =-)
Reply:You haven't said where you live. Here in the UK there are quite a few Point-to-Points taking place on Easter Monday, tomorrow, and over the next few weeks. There are not many horse shows taking place until later in April, but the Grand National takes place at Aintree on April 5th.

Go to:-

for dates of forthcoming shows in the UK.
Reply:You could go to a local stable that might offer trail rides to the public. Then all of you could ride! They aren't too expensive either in my opinion. You could also sign her up for a month's worth of lessons or something. I would really enjoy that if I ever stopped riding for some reason or another.
