US History- Curren Events Project?

I need a good topic that is easy to write about for my US History current events project. It has to have happened since Sept. 1, 2007 and be in the United States. I have to make a poster and write an essay by the end of the week. PLEASE RESPOND PROMPTLY.

Reply:You could have a lot of fun with this one. I would suggest the FEMA news conference that was staged on October 27. This was in responce to the California Fires. FEMA decided to have it's own personnel ask questions regarding the fires, and scheduled the news conference with little advance warning to the major news outlets so that they could attend.
