In the events of Deja Vu (Movie), is it possible that it happened in the first place?

In Deja Vu, the movie, it starts out with the ferry exploding, Denzel examining the dead Claire which led to the findings of the clues in her apartment. That in turn led to the 'wormhole crew' to discover him, he found out about the wormhole, went back in time, stopped the whole event of the ferry from happening.

Now, let us retrace to the beginning. Let us say the ferry exploded, but Denzel had not examined Claire. Would the movie [events] have happened?

Does time repeat itsself? What I mean by this is: During the beginning sequence, was Denzel in the time period? Had he already rescued Claire from her death? He must have to have left the clues in Claire's apartment, right? Does this mean the ferry shouldn't have happened?

Bottom Line: If this was real life, would the movie have worked out as it did?

Hollywood Confuses Me. :[

I think that it had all happened. If you remember the stuff in Claire's appartment. For instance, it always said You Can Save Her on the frigde and there were traces of Denzel all of the apartment, his fingerprints and the swabs with his blood on them. I think that this points to the fact that it had happed before.

Wow! This is a crazy idea to think about.
