oh that narrowed it down. there was the formation of the UN. The reconstruction of europe, the korean war, the spread of the nuclear bomb. The development of rockets into missles, space exploration and landing on the moon the vietnam war the russian invasion of afghanistan the bay of pigs, the near nuclear war as a result of russia trying to move missles into cuba, genocides in africa and asia, the rise and fall of the banana republics, the gulf wars, the fall of communism, the economic rise of china and india, the fall of tibet to china, collapse of the soviet union, the collapse of yugoslavia and consequent genocides and war crimes, you've got a lot to pick from so unless you give a time period this list could go on practically forever.
