The printing press allowed for there to be an easy way to duplicate or write large amounts of words on paper or whatever they wanted. Before, they had to do it all by hand. Kind of like the invention of the calculator to math. Made things faster and easier. Renaissance Era was very important because it sparked a change in living from the Medieval times or Dark Times to a time where people could read and write, the arts flourished (musical/drama/etc...). Civil War abolished slavery and re-united our country. Civil Rights Movement was a movement of equality for the races, especially minorities. Many minorities had fewer advantages (economically, educationally, socially) because of their color or ethnic backgrounds. The invention of the car made it possible to cover great distances on your own. It brought people closer together. Women and Sufferage gave them equal rights such as the right to vote. Revolutionary War liberated the United States from the tyranny of Mother England. World War II set us up as a World power and protected our interests in Europe. Also helped us in the future war against communism. Ben Franklin shows what electricity comes from. There were many myths of what electricity was. He was also able to harness that energy which enabled others to use his finding for their own experiments and discoveries.
