What gymkhana events to practice for?

In the spring, my best friend and I will be entering some gymkhana events. And during winter we have plenty of time to practice in the indoor arena. What events to practice for though?

What gymkhana events to practice for?
Barrels and Poles and keyhole are the usuals

But they always have others that they throw in and its so hard to guess.

But for exercises, get your horse supple in turns, its up to you if you want to pattern them.

Sometimes they have you do a reverse keyhole, so my non patterned WP mules kick butt against the racing animals that are patterned. Just something for you to think about.
Reply:Water cup race...Ride with a cup of water at called out gaits, person with most water left wins.

Egg and Spoon Race

Doughnut race--Ride down, gobble donut, rideback

Catalog race--Ride down, tear out catalog paged called, race back

Dizzy bat race-ride down, hop off, wirl around a batr, hop back on race back

Barrel racing

Pole bending

Trotting races

Musical feedbags.... The list goes on. Just really practice speed and turning, and mounting and dsimounting
Reply:Go to www.calgymkhana.com you will find a list of all the events gymkhana has.
Reply:In ours we have speed ball which is racing to a traffic cone with the hole made bigger and you drop a golf ball in. You then circle the cone and come back. No time if you don't get the ball in the hole. We also have pole bending, barrels, big -T which is poles and barrels together, flags (this one freaks out my horse), key hole
Reply:Gymkhana is a variety of different events. Barrel racing, poles, the Key race, rescue, flying figure 8. There are a lot of sites on the internet that will let you research. Remember to always have your horses legged up before trying any of these events. Your horse needs a good 6 weeks of building muscles and lungs.
